Today, one of the major environmental problems is the consequences of wars in water areas, especially the waters where the human population lives on their shores. Therefore, in recent years, the number of countries that have requested the United Nations Environment Program to carry out environmental assessments after the war has increased. The Persian Gulf region is one of the strategic water areas that face environmental challenges caused by human accidents Like wars, it is less studied. This article has investigated this issue using library data and in an analytical-descriptive way. The findings have shown that the incidence of environmental crises in the Persian Gulf region is higher than in other regions and these crises will continue to be a problem for the coastal countries in the future. On the other hand, the strategic location of the Persian Gulf has turned it into an arena for great powers, and the coastal countries with different regional and global policies have divergent actions towards each other and their actions are always It has been hostile. All of this has made this region susceptible to environmental crises, so that any war in the region, on a small or large scale, can lead to environmental pollution and widespread risks for the human population living in the coastal countries and their environment. Experiences Previous wars in the region such as Iran and Iraq wars; Iraq and Kuwait and the United States and the United States show that the environmental challenges caused by these wars have had much more destructive effects and consequences than the wars themselves on human life and other living beings.
